We take an hour drive by car towards the south of Jogjakarta.
By the Japanese cave, we start walking across the rim of the Gunung Kidul mountain range. The road is old and winds through community forests and open bushes, and Javanese Villages. We will pass several spiritual and historical sites towards the mystical Indian Ocean.

Almost sunset, we arrive at Parangtritis Beach. Here we enjoy sunset and a light dinner at a cozy cafe in the dunes. We are back to Jogja by car.
The full walk takes about 3 hours and is an easy to medium walk.
